Tonia Lyons is a TKGA-certified knitting instructor, Master Hand Knitter, and knitwear designer based in Quebec, Canada.
She enjoys teaching knitters how to really understand their knitting with the goal of helping them become more confident about tackling new projects or techniques.
Her work has been featured in Cast On, Interweave Knits, and Knit Now, as well as other publications. She loves to chat all about knitting on her YouTube channel, Nerdy Knitting, and her website, toniaknits.com.

Fix Without Fear
Class Description: Take your fixing skills to the next level! In this follow-up to Tink, Frog, Fix, we’ll tackle more advanced errors—like mis-crossed cables, incorrect increases or decreases, and mistakes in lace. You’ll learn how to spot problems, ladder down through tricky stitches, and fix confidently—without ripping back rows of hard work. No more dreading the undo—just smart fixes and fearless knitting.
Homework: YES! Student handout will be emailed to you when you sign up for the class, along with a discount code for the online Tink, Frog, Fix class)
Skill Level: Complete the Tink, Frog, Fix class (available to retreat members online at a discounted rate!) or knitters should be comfortable reading and working from charts and dropping down to fix an individual stitch or a small group of stitches in Stockinette fabric.
Student Supply List:
Worsted weight yarn [CYC 4 medium]: at least 20 grams of smooth, light colored yarn for working the homework swatch
US 8 [5 mm] needles for knitting flat
US 6 [4 mm] DPNs (two)
Size G or H Crochet hook
Embroidery floss or fingering-weight yarn [CYC 1 super fine] for adding a lifeline
Scissors and a tapestry needle

Toe up Two-at-a-Time Socks on Magic Loop (or Two Circulars)
Class Description: Learn to knit two socks at once using the Magic Loop (or Two Circulars) method.
Students will knit a pair of small sample socks in medium-weight yarn during the class
Homework: NONE!
Skill Level: Knitters should know how to cast on/bind off, knit/purl, work basic increases and decreases.
Student Supply List:
Worsted weight yarn [CYC 4 medium]: at least 50 grams of smooth, light colored yarn divided into two equal balls.
US 7 or 8 [4.5 or 5 mm] needles
One double-pointed needle
Magic Loop - 40 in [100 mm] circular needles
Two Circulars - Two 24 in [60 cm] circular needles
Stitch markers, scissors, and a tapestry needle

Fit to Knit
Class Description: Sweaters should fit you—not just the pattern. In this class, you’ll learn how to confidently adjust sweater patterns to match your body’s shape and preferences. From simple changes like adjusting sleeve or body length to more advanced modifications like bust darts, waist shaping, and short-row neckline adjustments, we’ll walk through the most common fit issues and how to fix them. Whether you’re curvy, petite, tall, or anywhere in between, you’ll build the confidence to create sweaters that actually fit your body.
Homework: NONE!
Skill Level: Suitable for intermediate to advanced knitters who have knit a few sweaters and understand the basics of sweater construction.
Student Supply List:
Sweater pattern the student would like to knit
Fabric tape measure
Length of yarn long enough to wrap around the body at the largest point
Pencil/pen
